The Information Science and Engineering (ISE) department at Cambridge Institute of technology was founded in the year 2007 with the endeavor of imparting value-laden education for students, in the traditional and contemporary areas of information technology and develop students with good ethical practices, thus showcasing their all-round personality development.The course is based on the syllabus prescribed by the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

In a span of 8 years the department has witnessed rapid growth by providing a conducive environment for learning. The vibrant faculty members of the department possess demonstrated expertise in many areas of information technology and flair for teaching different courses.

The department is one of the top options for CET and COMED-K rank holders. The students of ISE has performed excellently well in campus placements of reputed IT industries, such as TCS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, and others.The department is actively involved in hosting many additional training programs for students in areas such AUTOMATION TESTING, ANDROID APPLICATIONS, BIG DATA, CLOUD COMPUTING and so on.

Welcome to the department of Information Science & engineering. The department works with the objective of addressing critical challenges faced by the Industry, society and the academia.

When computer and communications technologies are combined, the result is information technology, or “InfoTech”. There is a swift convergence in the areas of computing and communications as a result of relations developing in the data and information environment .IT professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases, data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design as well as the management and administration of entire systems.

In recent times, ‘software development and IT enabled services’ have emerged as a niche opportunity for India in the global context. Today, the term information Technology has ballooned to encompass many aspects of computing and technology, and the term has become very recognizable. The information Technology umbrella can be quite large, covering many fields.

The Information Science program, prepares the student to design and manage computerized data processing and decision support. The program is technically oriented emphasizing the design and implementation aspects of large scale information systems as well as the more traditional, managerial and organizational issues. It also balances development of systems engineering skills with learning to deliver reliable systems on time and within a specified budget.

The department strives to provide a conductive environment for the students to develop analytical and practical skills and apply them to real world problems. To motivate the students the department organizes regular training in state of art software & hardware, arranges workshop, National & International Conferences periodically. I congratulate to the team of faculty members and the students for their brilliant and original efforts. I wish all the Students and Faculty a great academic career.

The computing facilities and the classroom environment in the Department is an adaptive work-study environment open to students, faculty and researchers. It has state of the art computing facilities to enable the students, faculty and researchers to achieve their task with ease of operation in their area of interest. The department has to its credit 02 laboratories (Open Source Technologies, Networking tools, Multimedia software, SQL/ORACLE Database, Visual Programming, JAVA / .NET Programming and so on), and a total of over 75 systems. The department has 30 mbps dedicated broadband line with 24 hour Internet connectivity. All the systems are supported with Intel core i3 processors, 4GB RAM and 500GB hard disk. These systems are used by students for different lab experiments based on C, C++, JAVA, Web Programming, ADA and Shell Scripting.
